Dear Voter

Dear Voter,

I wanted to write a personal message to all of you so that you may better understand my commitment to serving you and our district. I recently heard a radio talk show host ask a guest if she thought America could ever restore TRUST in Washington; she gave a candid answer: "I don't know". As an eternal optimist, I believe that we, as Americans, CAN and WILL RESTORE TRUST in our Congress, but it won't be easy.

We need to elect people to Congress who are TRUE servants of the people; candidates who seek office NOT for power, money or personal gain, but rather, out of a sense of DUTY and SERVICE to the people they represent. Bottom line: we need to return the ordinary CITIZEN to Washington.

I, Patrick Miranda, AM this candidate. How can I prove this? It is simple:

First and foremost, I don't want to go to Washington to line my pockets with money from special interest groups. The only special interest groups that I care about are my family, my constituents and my country. As such, I am NOT receiving money from special interest lobbyists because I do not want to be tainted by their money. I govern my my values, not by financial gain. I would be perfectly happy to stay at home with my wife and children, rather than having to deal with politicians in Washington; however, I feel it is my duty to SERVE you now.

Second, I am a fierce advocate of term limits for politicians. It is appalling to me that we have people in Washington who are nothing more than "career politicians".

Third, I refuse to be beholden to ANY particular party. While I am running as a Republican, I am more truly a Reagan Conservative. I will vote on legislation NOT because a "partisan handler" tells me to do so, but because it agrees with what is written in our CONSTITUTION. I promise to govern with honesty and integrity and this includes weeding out corrupt politicians in BOTH parties. And, unlike other politicians, I want to PROVE to you that I mean every word I say, but I need your help:

IF, as a voter, you feel like I have failed in my obligations and duties as your Representative, please let me know. I will always be accessible to my voters both in Washington AND when I come home. If I still fail to live up to my promises, then I ask you all, with total honesty and sincerity, to PLEASE SEND ME HOME. What other politician ASKS that from voters? I WANT to serve all of you to the best of my ability, and I ask that you help me to REJECT the Beltway mentality in Washington.

It is the honor of my life to be a candidate in Tennessee's Fifth Congressional District, and I am humbled to have the opportunity to SERVE each of you. I ask that you put your trust in me and that you vote for me in the primaries and again in the general election.

Together, WE WILL restore TRUST and HONOR back in our nation's Capitol.

Thank you all and God bless you.

Patrick Miranda
